Welcome and AIChE Annual Meeting in Indianapolis Discussion
We replaced our typical September welcome with an interesting talk by Tony Ware on the Human Genome Project, so our October meeting will be our typical welcome dinner to another year of local section AIChE activities. Please join your fellow chemical engineers in the local area for a pleasant meal after work. Individual meals will be ordered from the menu. We will discuss the November 2 AIChE table at the Children’s Museum, final arrangements for the AIChE Annual Meeting here in Indianapolis, volunteer opportunities, and other details.
If possible, please make a reservation with Alan Schmidt at (317) 233-5190 email@example.com beforehand so that we know how large a table to request and have a list of active AIChE attendees, but if not just show up.
When: Tuesday October 22, 2000, 5:30pm
Where: Meet at the Old Spaghetti Factory, 210 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis. Ask for the AIChE table with Alan Schmidt.
November 2, 2002
National Starch and Chemical Company through Denise Curtis has volunteered supplies for a chemical engineering table at the Children’s Museum for National Chemistry Week. We need volunteers to monitor a portion of the chemical activities from 10am to 5pm Saturday November 2, 2002. Please contact Alan Schmidt at (317) 233-5190 firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer so that everyone can have an enjoyable time. We need a list so the volunteers can enter the museum easily. We will have biodegradable peanuts that disappear in water, a starch solution which is dilatant (gets thick if sheared fast but will melt through your fingers), a demonstration of soap bubbles in salt water and regular water, and some chemical engineering information.
